No previous experience is required. An experienced instructor will be on board with you to teach you everything you need to know.

Men and women from the age of 18 and children from 12 accompanied by their parents/responsible adults.

Safety on board is our key priority. The crew are professional sailors with many years of experience. On the first day of the trip we will give a detailed safety briefing on how to behave in case of fire or flooding and teach you how to put on a lifejacket and safety harness.

Depending on the format of the voyage (non-stop crossing or a programme with landings), you will stay on board a sailing ship and, together with the other participants, learn to sail under the guidance of an experienced instructor. If the programme includes shore landings (voyage to Antarctica, East Greenland), you will visit places of interest stated on the itinerary (if, weather conditions allow).

listen to the crack of falling ice, watch penguins and whales in the wild, visit polar stations and local settlements.

For the duration of the voyage, you can become a full member of the crew, including certain responsibilities. You'll take turns to keep watch and housekeeping duties, as well as participate in any work or sailing drills. Important: the Captain and your instructor commands must be obeyed to ensure we all sail safely and comfortably. Participation in the maritime programme is optional, but we strongly recommend involving to get full experience of the voyage.

Throughout the voyage you will stay onboard the ship with crew members and your instructor. This allows you to get a real feel for life on a tall sailing ship and also saves you the hotel costs. Depending on the ship you choose, you will be accommodated in a double, triple or quadruple cabin with the other participants.

The price of the programme includes three meals on board and the work of the ship's cook. We prepare a menu according to your wishes and dietary restrictions.

No, no experience is required, just your willingness. And all the necessary training materials and safety equipment will be available on board. We will send a detailed instruction on what to take with you for the programme of your choice in advance.

Don't be afraid or embarrassed: symptoms of seasickness are not an indication of your fitness and there is no reason not to go sailing.
Most people experience seasickness symptoms, but they go away within the first few days at sea.
There are some simple ways to minimise seasickness: get plenty of sleep, get some fresh air and try to keep yourself busy. For instance, get behind the helm or learn a new nautical knot — work helps distract you better than any medication. Take some pills with you just in case, but be aware that they can cause drowsiness.

Some time before the start of the trip we'll create a chat room where all participants can get acquainted with the instructor and with each other. There we also give you all necessary logistical information, lists of recommended items and other useful materials.
