Nature sets the pace
Skip the lines for shore landings. Come with friends or make new ones over dinner on board. With just 10−18 guests, the atmosphere is warm and easygoing, with space to take in Antarctica in peace.
We adapt to the weather, wildlife, and opportunities each day brings. We can change course, linger at a favorite spot, or spend longer watching whales. Our itinerary leaves room for the moments you came all this way to experience.
200+ expeditions
Polar experts since 2015
We’ve led more than 200 expeditions across the Arctic and Antarctica since 2015. Our work here includes scientific missions, too. You travel with a team whose knowledge comes from years of navigating, exploring, and working in the polar regions.
The Drake Passage separates South America from Antarctica: the world’s widest strait, with some of its roughest seas. For ocean lovers, it’s a bucket-list crossing. If you’re less sure of your sea legs, flying saves time and takes you straight to Antarctica’s more sheltered waters. We offer both.

This is not a shorter or reduced expedition. You travel aboard the same ship and receive the full sailing programme, onboard meals, expedition guidance and professional crew services.
Rather than leave cabins empty, we are releasing them at a special final-availability rate.
These are the remaining places on scheduled Amazone departures for the 2026–27 Antarctic season.
DON’T JUST VISIT ANTARCTICA. EXPLORE IT.
Large expedition cruise
  • Often 100–500+ guests
  • Landings divided into groups and time slots
  • More logistics required to change the programme
  • Nature viewed from several decks above the water
  • Floating-hotel atmosphere
  • Guests remain passengers
  • The entire group can move together
  • Greater freedom to adapt to weather, ice and wildlife
  • Icebergs and wildlife encountered close to sea level
  • Authentic sailing expedition
  • Optional participation in sailing and navigation
Amazone
Amazone carries only 18 guests. You travel close to the water, go ashore as one small group and experience Antarctica without hundreds of passengers around you.
No crowded viewing decks. No waiting for hundreds of passengers. More time where Antarctica is most extraordinary.

Whichever option you choose, the expedition programme in Antarctica will be the same.
On suitable days, the programme typically includes two or three landings or Zodiac outings.
Return to Amazone for a hot meal — and head out again when conditions are right.
Wake up among icebergs. Go ashore by Zodiac. Walk beside penguin colonies. Watch for whales and seals. Visit Antarctic research stations when access is possible.
THE CONTINENT IS THE PROGRAMME
Explore the expedition route. Click on any point to learn more about each stop.
The exact route and landing sites may change depending on weather, ice and wildlife conditions. The captain always makes the final decision based on safety and the best available expedition opportunities.
Our first encounter with Antarctica. We will visit the Russian polar station “Bellingshausen,” get acquainted with the life of researchers, meet the first penguins, and, if we’re lucky, warm up in a real Russian bathhouse.
King George Island, Bellingshausen Station
One of the best places to photograph Papuan penguins. Bird colonies nest right on the shore, and the harsh Antarctic landscape is complemented by the remains of ancient animals preserved among the rocks.
Yankee Bay
Black volcanic sand, dark cliffs, and Weddell seals create one of the most contrasting and photogenic landscapes in Antarctica.
Half Moon Island
The contrast between the black volcanic sand, geothermal steam, and the abandoned whaling station makes this place one of the most cinematic locations of the entire expedition.
Deception Island
Here you can see the bow of a sunken whaling ship, which has been rising above the water for over a century, creating one of the most unusual scenes in Antarctica.
Enterprise Island
Glaciers, icebergs, and dozens of whales that regularly appear near the sailboat. One of the most spectacular spots of the entire expedition.
Melchior Islands
A place where you can immerse yourself in the history of polar expeditions and send a postcard from the southernmost post office on Earth.
Port of Lockroy
A narrow strait surrounded by majestic glaciers and snow‑capped peaks. One of the most photogenic spots on the route, where whales often appear.
Lemaire
One of the best expedition locations for photographing Papuan penguins. Here, the colony numbers in the thousands, and the glaciers and rocky shores create an ideal backdrop for photos.
Couverville Island
One of the places where you can set foot on mainland Antarctica. The bay is surrounded by glaciers and steep peaks, and Antarctic penguins nest on the rocky ridge.
orne Bay
Meet AMAZONE
You can help handle the sails, take the helm or learn basic navigation under crew supervision.
Participation is entirely optional. No previous sailing experience is required.
Amazone offers warm, practical expedition accommodation, a shared wardroom, shared showers and toilets, Zodiac boats for shore landings, three meals a day and optional Starlink access.
The exact cabin category included in your offer will be confirmed before booking.
This is comfortable expedition living — not a luxury cruise ship or floating hotel.
Amazone is a classic 28.26-metre Dutch ship built in 1963 for service in the North Sea and later converted for sailing voyages around the world.
MoreTime Expeditions has been running regular Arctic and Antarctic voyages aboard Amazone with her crew since 2021.
